The Spark: A Family Mission

Burn for Change was born from a desire to build something meaningful together. After Daniel’s time in the Navy, we sought a path that allowed us to create while making a tangible difference in our community. As a family of animal lovers, our inspiration is found right at home: our rescue dogs, Skyler (our beautiful Sheagle) and Katya (our spirited Pug).

Katya and Skyler aren't just pets; they are the heart of our operation. Katya takes her role as "Chief Scent Officer" very seriously, sniffing every batch to ensure it’s just right, while Skyler, our "Chief Security Officer," keeps a watchful, happy eye on our creative process. Even my 85-year-old mother, Anita, is a vital part of our team, supporting us by driving us to events and cheering on our mission.

Crafting with Care for Little Noses

We believe that a beautiful home fragrance shouldn't come at a cost to the creatures who share our space. As a legally blind and color-blind artisan, I pour my passion into every piece using premium soy waxes, mica powders, and dyes—all of which are never tested on pets.

Because of my color blindness, my work is a testament to creativity and intuition; if you ever notice a color that is uniquely its own, know it was crafted with deep care. We take the safety of your furry, feathered, and scaled companions to heart. Every scent we select is carefully curated to be phthalate-free and low in or free of vanillin, ensuring that our products are as safe as they are beautiful for the sensitive noses in your home.

Our Commitment to Idaho

Our mission is simple: to give back. While our reach is broad, our hearts are firmly rooted in the Treasure Valley. We are proud to share that every candle sold in Idaho directly supports our local animal rescue partners, including the Idaho Humane Society.

While our ability to formally link every online sale to these donations is limited by geography, our dedication to animal welfare remains the driving force behind every candle we create.
